According to the report of Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Steven J. Robinson, the Australian Government supports the establishment of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Covid-19 Testing Center at its national headquarter at Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.
Testing laboratory equipment, supplies and ambulance were the specific assistance being provided by the Australian Government.
At present, the testing centre have two testing machines, with each one capable of conducting up to 1,500 tests per day, Senator Richard Gordon, PRC chairman and chief executive officer, said.
A Memorand of Agreement (MOA) were signed between PRC and the Local Governments of Pasay, Caloocan, Navotas, Manila, Las Pinas, Mandaluyong, Taguig and San Juan. Under the MOA, the local government units have to pay the P5 Million in advance for PRC to evaluate their constituent’s swab samples.
Private individuals or the general public may avail of testing by making an appointment through the PRC hotline 1158 and pay P3,500.00
